HAPPY THANKSGIVING LIBEREC
After weeks of preparation, we had our largest Thanksgiving meal on November 21, 2007 in Liberec. There were 80 guests: friends and family of members of the church. About 70% were non-believers, many visiting a church sponsored activity for the first time. We were delighted to see that several of our students came and two brought a parent which we met for the first time. It seemed like the whole church was involved: there were teams for set-up, cooking, serving and clean up. Ken helped plan and prepare the meal, and Linda planned a 40 minute slide presentation on the history and traditions of Thanksgiving. We used 3 kitchens and stoves that were in the church building, each on a different floor. At the end of the evening, many had rubbery legs from going up and down the stairs. But it was well worth the effort. It was a memorable way to reach our community with God's love and share that we are thankful to Him for His many blessings.
